Best in 2010: Offensive Line
The offensive line is an integral part of every teams success. The SEC prides itself on being the most physical, toughest, and athletic conference in college football. The line is where the SEC’s meanest, nastiest, toughest, big boys play, and theses schools are better than anyone else.
1 – Georgia: The Georgia offensive line was a big question mark heading into 2009, at the end it turned into one of the best units the conference had. Led by Clint Boling, the Bulldogs feature three pre-season all-sec team members, and will be aided by the return of Trinton Sturdivant. This offensive line should give new quarterback Aaron Murray all the time he needs and open up holes for the dangerous running back tandem of Caleb King and Washaun Ealey.
2 – Alabama: It seems every year the Crimson Tide put out one of the nations best offensive lines, and this year is no exception. Led by Barrett Jones and James Carpenter, the interior of the offensive line will be one of the biggest strengths of this years team. William Vlachos also earned preseason all-sec honors and will push Mike Pouncey of Florida for the title of best center in the SEC.
3 – Florida: The Gators return four starters along the offensive line, including Mike Pouncey who will make the move to center. Carl Johnson at guard and Xavier Nixon at tackle join Pouncey on the all-sec preseason team. Look for James Wilson, a former 5 star recruit, to take over at guard for Mike Pouncey. Xavier Nixon could be one of the best offensive lineman in the country in two years.
