Best of 2010: Wide Receivers
Loaded with some top notch talent, the two top wide receivers in the SEC very well could be the best receivers in the nation. These WR’s are not only fast with great hands, they are very big and strong. Look for there to be a lot of NFL buzz surrounding this class.
1 – AJ Green (Georgia): Green has the size, 6’4″ and 208lbs, and the speed, 4.5 in the forty, to have a very long and productive career in the NFL. Green led UGA with 53 receptions for 808 yards and 6 touchdowns last year. These stats are more impressive when you consider who he had throwing him the ball last year. Look for Green to have a bigger year this year with Aaron Murray taking over. Green should be a 1st team All-American and first round draft pick.
2 – Julio Jones (Alabama): Jones is nearly identical in size to AJ Green, listed at 6’4″ and 218lbs. Combine his size with his 4.4 speed, and you can see why NFL scouts are drooling over his potential. Jones does not have great numbers, but that is due to the offense that he plays in. Look for Alabama to target Jones more this year and improve on his mediocre numbers from a year ago. Jones should join Green as a first round NFL selection next year, if they chose to enter.
3 – Randall Cobb (Kentucky): Cobb is to Kentucky’s offense what Percy Harvin was to Florida in 2008. Cobb does a little bit of everything for Kentucky, where he has lined up at quarterback, running back, receiver, and kick/punt returner. His receiving numbers are comparable to Julio Jones, but he also accounted for nearly 600 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cobb is one of the most dynamic and exciting players in the SEC, wherever he lines up.
Honorable Mention: Darvin Adams (Auburn), Joe Adams (Arkansas), Terrance Toliver (LSU), Alshon Jeffery (USC), and Deonte Thompson (Florida)
Sleepers: Chad Bumphis (Miss St), Russel Shepard (LSU), and Andre Debose (Florida)

[...] A true lock down corner is one of the hardest things to find, and the SEC could boast as many as three of them. Put these guys on an island and let them play, they can cover anyone in the country 1 on 1. These guys will be called on often, as the SEC also features some of the nations best wide receivers. [...]
