SEC fans turn their focus to tonight’s opening night matchup of Southern Miss at South Carolina.  Gamblers, we’re here to help you out as you seek your first win of the season.

• The Spread – As of late last night, the spread on the game was -14 (-110) for the South Carolina Gamecocks.  If you’ve just been reading some of the press, you might have thought this line would be closer than it is.
• The Over/Under – As of late last night, the over/under was 45.5 (-110).

How are the teams trending?

• Southern Miss is 2-6 against the spread in their last 8 games against the SEC
• The under is 8-3 in the last 11 Southern Miss games against the SEC
• South Carolina is 6-2 against the spread in the last 8 thursday night games
• Under is 8-3 in the last 11 South Carolina non-conference games

I think the under might be the best bet.  South Carolina had the 102nd best offense last year and the 24th best defense (based on points scored).  Also South Carolina is without their great tight end and will be playing a new quarterback.
