Auburn struck first blood with Cam Newton winning the Heisman trophy over Oregon’s LaMichael James. Now Oregon has drawn even with Chip Kelly beating out Gene Chizik to win the AP Coach of the Year. The undercard is complete and all that is left is for the two teams to square off in the BCS Championship come January 10th, 2011.
What do you say Auburn fans? Is Chip Kelly deserving of the award over Gene Chizik? Speak your mind. Feel free to add insults directed towards the culture, brand of football and people of Oregon, but let’s try to have some substantive arguments.
It’d be hard to find fault with the polling. Both teams are undefeated. Both teams have been unstoppable at times this season. Both teams have struggled in different games. If Oregon was 10-2, and Auburn was 13-0, then I might have an issue with it. As it is now, it could have been either coach winning it.

I actually believe Kelly is a good coach, so I figured it would go either way. The real test will not be until the NC game though. I think both coaches have a great coaching staff and the ability to make changes when needed to swing the momentum back to their side. They are both excellent leaders and appear to handle themselves well under pressure.
So, I am not that surprised that Kelly just edged out Chizik.
That is all I will say…..for now.
Gene Cheezit doesn’t deserve sh*t. Malzahn is the only man with brains on that staff. I guess Cheezit does deserve credit for hiring him though. But then immediately loses it because he hired a moron like Trooper Taylor.

Bill, you won’t find anyone with a heart as big as Trooper Taylor’s! I’d love to hear your explanation as to why you think he’s a moron. Don’t hate on him because your team doesn’t have him… I’m going to assume that you’re a Bama fan, because it’s people like you that give Bama fan’s a reputation for being low class. Good job!
