Vanderbilt head coach Robbie Caldwell resigns. His resignation will be effective immediately after tonight’s game against Wake Forest. Earlier this year before the season, then head coach Bobby Johnson resigned and left assistant coach Robbie Caldwell as the new head coach. However, now Caldwell has resigned and leaves Vanderbilt scrambling to find another head coach for next year. Vanderbilt is currently 2-9 on the year, with their lone SEC win against Ole Miss. They conclude their season tonight against Wake Forest at 7:30 pm.

Ironically, the Ole Miss season reminds me so much of Auburn’s 2008 season. In 2008, Auburn lost to Vanderbilt and struggled to beat UT-Martin 37-20, finishing with a 5-7 record. This year Ole Miss loses to Jacksonville State and Vanderbilt, and unless they can pull an upset tonight, will finish with a 5-7 record.
