SEC Football is a passion and an obsession that drives us each and every fall – the gridiron Saturdays, the smell of burgers, tailgating and lasting memories with friends and family. All the rivalries and pageantry make this conference the greatest conference in college football. Football in the South means something different to each of us. It becomes a way of life when calendar pages turn from July to August and finally to the season opener in September, and it usually does not end until after signing day (for the die-hard recruiting junkies).

I can remember living north of Knoxville when I was young, just across the Virginia line, before I moved south to Florida a few years later. Obviously all of you know that area is Vol country. I vividly remember going to Neyland Stadium watching Johnny Majors march onto the field through the Power T with his team in tow. I remember Andy Kelly handing the ball off to Charlie Garner and James “Little Man” Stewart. I do not remember any scores, only that we were together and we were watching football. I later moved south to Gator country and got to experience the Swamp for the first time and continue all the different and great rivalries that make SEC Football spectacular.

Danny Wuerffel to Ike Hilliard brings back memories like Andy Kelly to Carl Pickens. I am a proud fan of the SEC and look forward to a great season from the best college football conference in the country.
