Football is finally back on this Saturday, and there are three SEC games slated for today. We are 2-0 with Missouri’s win and Mississippi State’s win, and here’s to hoping we go undefeated in every game that is not the National Championship.
Ever since ESPN started putting their sky camera up on the field and strapping the wires from the top of the stadium, I’ve always wondered if it would ever fall. Well, it fell last night in the Insight Bowl between Iowa and Oklahoma. It nearly took out an Iowa player!
The Gators won’t be starting its SEC schedule at Neyland Stadium for their annual third-Saturday in September matchup with the Tennessee Volunteers, instead they’ll be traveling west to College Station, Texas to give the Texas A&M Aggies they’re first taste of life in the SEC.
At the start of 2011, one would have thought that Tennessee’s offense was set for greatness the next several years with the youth and talent at hand and the PlayStation-type numbers Tennessee was putting together through the first couple of weeks.
With the release of the new SEC schedule, there are five games that stick out to me as having a big impact on how the East and West finish in 2012. Here are the five biggest in 2012:
The Georgia Bulldogs had an easy schedule that helped them get to Atlanta this season in 2011. For 2012, Georgia fans should expect much of the same: winning. Georgia’s road back to Atlanta is easier than all the rest.
The high school All-American games are a time when prospects can showcase their talent and what they have worked hard for during their high school careers. Also, it gives us recruitniks an opportunity to tune into the game and check out these future leaders of our favorite teams.
These nine seniors are ready to make their last splash in the SEC when they play in their respective bowl games. These guys have been through the good and the bad, and they hope their last career college football game will end with a bang:
