Cowherd Says Major Program To Be Outed For Violations And It’s Not Auburn

ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd says a major college football program is going to be hammered and it’s not Auburn.  Before continuing, remember Cowherd’s goal is to get ratings, everything else is a distant second.

He said:

I received an interesting text about 10 days ago, and this should be very frightening if you’re a fan of college football, that a major program in this country is going to be outed very soon for major recruiting violations.  It is a top 10-12 program. I know what I think it is according to both my sources; I received another tip last night.  I went to Vince Doria, who is sort of the journalistic editor at this company.  He had heard the exact same thing.  We are pursuing this story with vigor.  A major publication is about to unseat a major college football power on recruiting violations.  I will tell you from my source, it is not — it is not — Auburn.  I will leave it at that.  It is a major program and a major publication.  When we can validate more… I have not been able to validate it nor has this company.  We’re both pursuing it.

  1. I like Cowherd, but this is stupid. Way to go out on a limb here. There are probably 30 major programs that would fall under these statements.

Maybe he can give us an acronym as a hint again a la the STAB acronym hinting at the next Florida head coach which turned out to be completely wrong.

  2. What’s his acronym for this one? We’re still waiting to find out how “STAB” was related to Muschamp.

    • STAB was Southern Ties something something (I forget) – it was related to Bo Pelini at Nebraska, and while silly, to Cowherd’s credit he said it did not pan out and was wrong. He could have come up with something dumb to match Muschamp and then claim he was right.

Regardless, it was completely stupid, and I’m thinking this “revelation” is as well.

  3. Cowherd has little credibility. Wasn’t he the guy that said he had “sources” who confirmed that Dooley was gone after the season?
