Florida Adds 630lbs Along The Defensive Line In A Week

The Florida Gators and Will Muschamp knew they had to land some depth along the defensive line heading out of 2011 and into the 2012 season.

Florida’s defensive line was decently fast and athletic this year, but there had to be major improvement against stopping the run, something Florida could not do against the bigger teams in Alabama and LSU.

They will be getting some 630lbs of help, thanks to Visesio Salt and Damien Jacobs both pledging their allegiance to Florida. Both Salt (6-3, 340lbs) and Jacobs (6-4, 290lbs) will be coming from JUCO, and they will be ready to play day one. Both will enroll in January and will be here for spring practice.

This is great news for Florida adding a guy like Salt, who can play the nose in the 3-4 defense, something Muschamp did not have this past year.

Jacobs will be a great player against the run as well.

Both Jacobs and Salt are great additions for this Florida defense for next year.
