It seems that Georgia pulled a couple tricks to sign their Dream Team last signing period. The Bulldogs just yesterday self-reported another recruiting violation, this time for heralded in-state running back Isaiah Crowell.
Georgia evidently created a “game-day” experience, which is a big no-no and a violation. The whole team was wearing their jerseys in the practice facility lined up to run a play when Isaiah Crowell entered the facility. Coincidence? I think not. Every starting position was filled by the actual starters, except for Crowell’s position – running back. Washaun Ealey must have had class and Caleb King must have been in study hall at that time.
Sure, it probably made Crowell feel good at the time, but continuous lines are being crossed and no one cares about what it takes to get these kids in school. I know this is not like paying a kid to come to the university, and “everyone does it”, but the rules are the rules.
Mark Richt has been admonished for this violation, and he will not be able to call recruits or parents during the April evaluation period.
Georgia also recently reported violations regarding heralded defensive lineman Ray Drew.
