Georgia received very good news on linebacker Jarvis Jones today. The AJC first reported that Jones would be cleared to play this season.
The SEC and the NCAA were investigating possible extra benefits taken by Jones during his high school AAU basketball days.
However, he has been cleared to play and will be ready game one against Boise State.
This is great news for Georgia because Jones was looking at a possible suspension for possibly a couple of games at the start of 2011 against Boise and South Carolina.
Jones started his career at Southern Cal but transferred back to his home state of Georgia. The Bulldogs hope Jones can be a major contributor this season at linebacker.
