November 5th cannot come soon enough. The much anticipated matchup between the top 2 teams in the country has everyone excited. LSU fans took the initiative and made the first volley against the Crimson Tide by placing a purple cape over the Nick Saban statue in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium. I imagine we’ll see more of this ‘pranking’ between fans in the upcoming weeks.

  1. Even though this is a silly prank, this is how unstable fans wind up doing something stupid like Updyke. Kids will be kids, but there are some really crazy people out there that take things too far. It is better to show some class, than set off someone who is unstable. Let it be decided on the field, it means more that way.

  2. Um just saying its supposed to be funny. we actually have fun wit our games. yea we may take things seriously but this helps it not be so serious

  3. Looks like the tree “prank”, but wait. A LSU was not guilty of THAT “prank” and I doubt this one either. That cape is too ugly and cheap to represent the Bayou Bengals. 3 words…………. Remember last season…..LOL.

  4. I’m not gonna say this is a horrible prank and those that did it should be punished, but whoever did do it is extremely immature and disrespectful

  5. I think the biggest prank is building a statue of a coach who has only one you 1 National Championship! Pathetic!

when did everyone get so up tight! They didn’t deface the statue, they hung a purple cape on it! I thought football was supposed to be fun and entertaining! Some people need to loosen up! If they had destroyed property, then there is a problem! No one got hurt, no property destroyed, no foul; just good old fashioned fun!

  7. I am not offended by this at all. I just hope somebody from Bama gets them back soon.
To Bama fans who are offended: lighten up. It’s not like they destroyed the statue, they put a piece of fabric over it. Back in the day, colleges used to steal other teams’ mascots. That’s how traditions get started.

  8. Haha..I think its funny…people need to lighten up and be glad theres no elephant to steal..the real joke here is that there IS a statue of Saban already..I mean hes a good coach and all but isnt it a lil Narcasistic to allow a statue to be built of yourself after youve only been around a few years? Especially if youre probly gonna bounce whn the next big offer comes along…This could get ugly in a few years… anyone remember “Varsity Blues”?
