The SEC is full of incredible talent. Whether it is offense or defense, the SEC has plenty of guys who will eventually be playing on Sunday. In this series, we take a look at the All-Purpose Animals – the guys who make plays in every facet of the game.
In case you missed it, SDS previously looked at Chris Rainey as an all-purpose animal. Now, let’s take a look at Arkansas’ Joe Adams and his dynamic play-making ability.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have a ton of talent on the field at all times, and there is arguably no one better right now in the SEC than Joe Adams.
The senior wide receiver from Little Rock, Arkansas, is having a beautiful year for the Hogs on offense and in the punt return game. So far in 2011, Adams has the following stats:
- 15 catches for 198 yards (13.2) and 1 touchdown
- Nine punt returns for 176 yards (19.6) and two touchdowns of 61 and 69 each
Joe Adams is just as important as Tyler Wilson to this Arkansas offense because he brings a totally different dimension – Adams brings the ability to completely flip field position in an instant. He’s the best punt returner in the conference, and he’s arguably the biggest SEC all-purpose animal for 2011.
Adams will be absolutely crucial to Arkansas this week as they go on the road to Alabama for their first conference game.
