Who’s excited to see the new BCS standings when they come out this evening?
It looks like the Southeastern Conference will have the top three spots. Here are the top ranked teams that lost this weekend:
#2 Oklahoma State - Lost to the powerhouse of Iowa State (they don’t even have Seneca Wallace anymore)
#4 Oregon - Lost to Lane Kiffin of all people. This is a lose/lose situation, but regardless the 4th ranked team drops.
#5 Oklahoma - Lost to #22 Baylor in a game that lacked defense and had a Baylor score in the last seconds.
#7 Clemson - This high flying team was without their star wide receiver and may drop another one to South Carolina next week.
So as you can tell, the Southeastern Conference had a huge weekend and it looks like LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas will undoubtedly be ranked in the top 3 spots. SEC SEC SEC!
PS – The 3 best football teams in college football are not only in the same conference, they are all in the same division – the SEC West.
Footballs perfect storm. Its good to be a SEC fan. As I laid down I remembered to thank God for the Iowas, Baylors, and USC’s but only this year. May the rest of the world bring the hate, I think we can take it.
Here’s what this means: the BCS is over and a playoff will be developed in the next five years. The best way to handle this is to keep the bowls, but put the top eight in four bowls and winners advance from there. SEC power and dominance will once again completely revamp the college post season.
Agreed…Ive always thought that scenario made the most sense…You’d still have Bowl week….and create competition between the Venues for the Semi-final and Championship game spots. (More Revenue) all while the two teams that make it only play two more games.
And then next week when South Carolina and Georgia embarrass the ACC against Clemson and GT will be very close to 5 top 10 teams. That is if certain teams lose.
