It’s never too early to start talking about the NFL Draft, right? Maybe it is. But ESPN analyst Mel Kiper is always either combing his hair or updating his ‘Big Board’, or so he calls it.
Anyway, Kiper included six from the SEC right now, and here is where they ranked:
5. Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina
18. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
20. Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
23. Stephon Gilmore, DB, South Carolina
24. Courtney Upshaw, LB, Alabama
25. Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
You can view the complete list here. He has Andrew Luck being the number 1 pick in the draft.
Reactions:
I’m very surprised not to find Mark Barron, Dont’a Hightower, Malik Jackson or Jaye Howard on this list. Those are four guys that could make a push during this year and gain more momentum leading up to the draft.
Alabama leading the way right now with three out of six on the list.

Alabama could have a lot of first round draft picks this year!
Yeah or they could play the way they have and not have a single one. No QB and Richardson needs another year at least. He has not looked good.
Kiper is fairly accurate. I recall him picking Matthew Stafford as the #1 pick when Matt was a freshman.
Kiper would have never predicted Stafford as number one pick when he was a freshman. Kiper does not rank non-seniors.
Your on crack. He ranked Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, and Nick Fairly in all of his big boards. They non-seniors.
