SEC Underclassmen Considering An Early Exit To The NFL

SEC Underclassmen Considering An Early Exit To The NFL

NEW: Discuss this topic in the Google+ community for SEC fans.

The NFL Draft is literally just right around the corner after the bowl games and recruiting season.

Last year, the SEC had five of the top six selections in the NFL draft a year ago, and all five of those were underclassmen – Cameron Newton (Carolina), Marcell Dareus (Buffalo), AJ Green (Cincinnati), Patrick Peterson (Arizona) and Julio Jones (Atlanta).

The top two prospects in the SEC this season are underclassmen Trent Richardson and Morris Claiborne. Both of these guys made themselves some money this past season.

Here are a few draft eligible underclassmen who will look to jump to the NFL:

Alabama
LB – Dont’a Hightower
DB – Dre Kirkpatrick
RB – Trent Richardson

Auburn
RB – Onterio McCalebb

Georgia
TE – Orson Charles
DB – Bacarri Rambo

LSU
DT – Michael Brockers
DB – Morris Claiborne
DE – Sam Montgomery
WR – Rueben Randle

Mississippi State
DT – Fletcher Cox

South Carolina
DB – Stephon Gilmore
WR – Alshon Jeffery
DB – DJ Swearinger

Several underclassmen such as Georgia’s Jarvis Jones and Aaron Murray and Alabama’s DJ Fluker have said they plan on returning to school.

  1. I really, really hope that Rambo & Charles stay at UGA for just one more year! They’ve got many years of NFL career possibilities ahead of them but I hope they choose to complete their senior year! PLEASE!!!! lol

    • Aaron Murray said that he plans on returning to UGA ?

      Amazing.

He has gone 0-8 vs teams finishing in the top 25 last year and this year, and he has been Mark Richt’s only Quarterback put on the football field either season.

He’s LOST 40 percent of his games, assuming he goes 0-9 with the up-coming bowl game vs Michigan State, who obviously ends up in the top 25, too.

He LOST to 2 others who did not end up in the top 25, and after he LOST to both of them, they both FIRED their coach.

He Tweeted before he played Boise State, stating : “I’m on my way to the Georgia Dome to kick some a**.”

Now, he states he is RETURNING for 2012, but wants to hear what the NCAA NFL College Football Advisory Board might teach him about himself. Is Mark Richt not teaching him that personally ? Mike Bobo, “Offensive Coordinator” Mark Richt STOLE from Jacksonville State, where he was the Quarterbacks’ Coach, is not teaching this to this immature child, Mr. Aaron Murray ? That he has to make a SHAM out of the DECLARING FOR THE NFL DRAFT, instead ?

12 TD Pass in 8 games 0-8 vs teams who ended top 25 career.

45 TD Passes running up his stats vs teams who did NOT end up top 25.

20 interceptions in these 26 games

20 fumbles in these 26 games

52 sacks in these 26 games

1 yard rushing per carry for his career

7 carries a game STOLEN from the RB at UGA career

Biggest mistakes All at the WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT IN BIGGEST KEY GAMES

Aaron Murray is NOT MR. CLUTCH.

He is anything but Mr. Clutch, an absolute NO-SHOW in the big-games.

      Consistently inconsistent.

      Slow.

      Small.

Throws passes behind receivers, over their heads, poor timing, horrid footwork, has passes batted down at the line, stares down receivers, does a poor job of going through his progressions, he calls his own name more than half the time, is a Ball Hog, and Holds the ball too long.

Prefers make OL look bad taking sacks than throw ball away.

Doesn’t want to ruin his passing percentage, which of course, if you add in his 52 sacks as an incomplete pass. Aaron Murray should have thrown the football away when he holds it too long and is sacked. A proper QB would have thrown it away instead of trying to make his stats look good in pass completion percentage, which you just know he knows that he is NOT ACCURATE. Instead of holding the ball too long, his pass completion ratio for his career is only

427 completions out of 765 attempts only 55 percent completions career.

      YANKED in his last game.

Orson Charles and Bacarri Rambo ?

Jarvis Jones has nothing to prove to the NFL. No reason to stay.

      Orson Charles likewise.

Bacarri Rambo ? Hey Bacarri, 6th round son.

      Aaron Murray.

      Dear Aaron Murray,

      No reply son.

Any chance Randle & Claighborne will get drafted before January 9? Just kidding…Roll Tide!

  3. So buLLdawg, where in this article or where else have you seen anywhere AM is considering the draft??

Nice place to throw up some stats you probably sit around in your parents basement putting together…

    • Is this blog your only source of college football information, besides you never played the game, and have not attended a game personally ?

      Aaron Murray has

      DECLARED FOR THE NFL DRAFT.

After he DECLARED FOR THE NFL DRAFT, he stated – as I said in my reply – that he is “LOOKING FOR WHAT THE NFL ADVISORY COMMITTEE HAS TO SAY ABOUT HIM.”

    • You didn’t discuss his actual results as our Quarterback, why is that ?

    • JAXDAWG904, sir,
      __________________________________________________________________________________________
“I see where you said before the LSU game on this blog here : “UGA’s defense has held 3 or 4 teams to – rushing yards this season. Yes, LSU runs the ball very well. Stopping the run is UGA’s forte….it should be a great game to watch how each team reacts.”
      __________________________________________________________________________________________
How did that work out for you, son ?

LSU got 207 yards rushing. We had 78 yards rushing by direct contrast on your point.

Both teams rushed the football a grand total of 34 rushes.

By the way, Aaron Murray your little “hero” threw 2 interceptions and had 2 fumbles and was YANKED from the game by Mark Richt. This is his last game by the way, YANKED.

Aaron Murray threw 51 passes in his last game before being YANKED. He had 1 TD Pass out of 51 Passes.

LSU threw the same 1 TD Pass, but threw the 1 TD Pass tying Aaron Murray in the game you want to discuss, in just 13 pass attempts.

Aaron Murray was also sacked 4 times for minus 32 yards.

I see you also have been commenting about Mark Richt versus how the teams he played actually ended up in the season JAXDAWG904.

17-27 Mark Richt vs teams who finished top 25 career
3-11 Mark Richt vs teams who finished top 10 career
17 losses in his career none of whom would have ended up top 25 without their win over him.

Negative – rushing yards against CUPCAKES ? Hey JAXDAWG904, how did that prediction of yours vs LSU turn out son ?

      10-42, nice prediction.

  4. buLLdawg –
Must be nice in that padded cell you live in…amazing they let you have internet access.

  5. A personal attack by a weak poster, who has no retort on the point sir when it is you, not I, who said that we’d stop the running game of LSU. You’re just wrong. And, your only come-back is a slam on me as a poster ? Weak. Very weak. You leave my point standing that what you said, is not what happened, and how could it ? You want to talk about running the football, when in our pass-happy offense, LSU ran the ball down our throats and we threw 51 passes by Aaron Murray in the game. It marks now the 16th game of Mark Richt’s 11-year career here now where he played a team who made any top 10 poll that season. He’s won 3 of the 16 games. And, he ran the football not one game of the 16.
