I promise that I’m not just a South Carlina recruiting fan, but it seems like all I ever write about anymore is the team from Columbia, SC. They are absolutely tearing it up on the trail, and since July 1st, they’ve obtained commitments from TE Kelvin Rainey, WR Kwinton Smith, and WR Jody Fuller.
Now, they’ve seemingly locked up South Carolina’s best play, WR Shaq Roland. He’s only about 6-1 and 170-pounds, but the kid is lightning in a bottle. With all the recent commitments from receivers, I’m taking a hard look at South Carolina if I’m a top-flight quarterback.
Rivals rates Roland as the 68th best player in the country and the 8th best wide receiver. If the Gamecocks can hold on to him until signing day, it’ll be the 3rd year in a row they have signed the state’s top player (Marcus Lattimore in 2010 and Jadeveon Clowney in 2011).
Great pickup for the Gamecocks. Talent is stockpiling in Columbia!
It would actually be four years in a row. (Stephon Gilmore 2009, Marcus Lattimore 2010, Jadeveon Clowney 2011, and Shaq Roland 2012) Either way, I am so excited for the 2011 College Football season! It’s going to be a fun year!

CU & BAMA tried to slither in on Clowney!! We have Brendan Nosovitch from ?Allentown? PA. Rivals says he is very accurate and big but fast n mobile.They say The “SPURRIERS” CAN EASILY build his arm strength! But guess who wants him now? Yep,Clem’s son is trying to slither in!
