South Carolina has released a statement saying that quarterback Stephen Garcia has been indefinitely suspended. This comes off the heels of the suspension almost a month ago that stemmed from the nonsense surrounding the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
As usual the reasons are vague:
“We have expectations for our student-athletes and we make them aware that there are consequences for their actions,” Hyman said in a statement. “Stephen has exhibited behavior that is unacceptable for one of our student-athletes. Therefore, he has forfeited the privilege to participate in any football related activity until further notice.”
The latest event in the roller coaster career of Garcia at the South Carolina is especially disheartening for fans given the outstanding talent on the roster – SDS has two SC players as the top two spots in our pre-season top 20 for 2011.
The quarterback situation for 2011 at South Carolina is absolutely up in the air, with Connor Shaw showing promise and Garcia continuing the idiotic behavior that keeps him from leading this team to greater things.

the details are… he showed up at a mandatory meeting hosted by the NCAA, and his behavior was disruptive. It is rumored that he had alcohol on his breath.
It is now known Garcia had a few drinks, while celebrating Kyle Nunn’s birthday.
I’m done with the guy.
He just can’t keep his act straight, and at this point, he never will.
Shaw or bust.
go on and say bust then… Shaw wouldnt be able to lead us to the SECCG, let alone win it.
People absolutely jumped the gun on this, the more info that comes out the more it looks like everyone overreacted. Its starting to really look like Garcia’s reputation is to fault for this one, reported that some of the players left the meeting along with Garcia because they didnt agree with the ruling to kick him out the meeting.
