UGA gets Damian Swann

Georgia finally knocked a homerun with in-state athlete Damian Swann.  Swann was the first player to declare at the US Army All American Bowl.  After missing on two in-state players at the Under Armour game, UGA needed to get Swann.  Swann is the 8th ranked Athlete in the country, and he can play either side of the ball at the college level.  Most predict him to play defensive back at the next level, much like the position he is playing in today’s game.  Either way Swann could end up playing on both sides of the ball in Athens.

Ole Miss gets Huge Pickup in Tobias Singleton

Ole Miss got some much needed offensive help with in-state athlete Tobias Singleton.  Singleton is the 12th ranked wide receiver in the country, and Singleton gives an immediate boost to the Rebel offense.  At 6’2” 190, Singleton looks to be a perfect fit for winning the ball out of the air, and with a true 4.4 forty-yard dash he is also a big time deep threat.  Singleton’s commitment gives the Rebels some good news after a tough season on the field.

Odell Beckham Jr. to LSU is no Shock

Odell Beckham to LSU comes as no surprise, and just as I predicted he stayed in-state.  Beckham projects to play slot for the Tigers, but when I talked to his high school coach he told me that he is a significant deep threat.  Beckham was down to LSU and Miami, but Aubrey Hill was recruiting him at Miami.  When Hill left the Miami coaching staff, LSU getting Beckham was just a formality.  Beckham is the 10th ranked Wide Receiver in the nation.

Kris Frost Heading to the Plains

Auburn pulled a big time commitment out of the state of North Carolina, with the verbal pledge of Kris Frost.  Frost is the 4th ranked athlete in the nation, and in the broadcast he said that he wanted to start out at Wide Receiver.  However, I had the chance to see Frost play in the North Carolina State Championship Game, and I will go out on a limb and say he WILL play Linebacker at the next level.  This kid’s future is on defense, and what makes him great is his speed.  Frost is able to run sideline to sideline, and he will be a big boost to Auburn’s linebacker corps.

Calloway Switches Commitment to Auburn

The top player in the state of Alabama has switched his commitment.  Brent Calloway was formerly committed to Alabama, but at the beginning of the US Army All American Bowl, Calloway announced his intentions to de-commit from Alabama.  Calloway did not stay undecided long, as he announced his intentions later in the game.  Calloway committed to Auburn in the fourth quarter, and according to rivals.com, Alabama wanted him to play linebacker and Auburn will let him play runningback.  Calloway is ranked the 2nd best linebacker in the nation, and he is the highest ranked player in the state of Alabama.  I’m sure more will come from this story in a few more weeks.

Dee Hart Commits to Alabama

One of the most intriguing recruits in the country, as far as recruiting goes, has finally made a verbal pledge.  Hart hails from Orlando, FL, and plays at the same high school as Alabama commit Hasean Clinton-Dix.  Hart is ranked the #1 all-purpose back in the nation, and he gives the Tide more of a scat-back option than any other runningbacks in the stable.  Not to mention, Hart was named the MVP of the Army All American Bowl.
