  1. I would be most worried about it taking a crap on me!

  2. I’m as big an animal lover as they come and don’t have any problem with Universities having live animals as mascots. These animals get the very best of care at these schools – top notch care. I’m also as big a Bama fan as they come and it hurt me to watch this. Shame on ANY human, fan or not, for finding pleasure in another creature’s pain and misfortune.

  3. I hope the trainers find out what happened and take steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Of course, when you have a live animal mascot, things can and will happen. As for the hateful and stupid remarks by the bammers… way to stay classy. We would expect nothing less. :-)

  4. Truely an Awe inspiring creature. Auburn is lucky to have such a magnificent mascot.
I think anyone that wishes bad on this animal should think again. This is our national symbol as well.
    - Go Gamecocks!

  5. As a Bama fan I guess I’m supposed to laugh at this? I don’t find it funny and I don’t see it is a good opportunity to fuel the fire in this rivalry. The eagle is a beautiful animal and I can only hope that its well being is the most important focus. Roll Tide!

  6. I thought it was supposed to be a golden eagle, not a bald eagle. Am I wrong about that?

  7. Neither Spirit (the bald eagle in the vid) or War Eagle VII, or any of the other eagles and birds in the raptor center belong to the university. Nor is War Eagle (yes a golden eagle) the mascot. Aubie, the costumed tiger is the official mascot. All of the animals in the raptor center are being rehabilitated or cannot be released into the wild.

  8. I think somebody in the suite was wearing a Bama shirt! jk I’m just glad the bird is okay and that it didn’t land in the crowd! That’d be bad! Really tho, if bama had a live elephant and it tripped and fell or somethng, I wouldn’t like that either. We can all pull for our teams and have class and have fun and enjoy it. As for whether or not it’s supposed to be a Golden or not, they’ve used Balds and Goldens. Tiger was a Golden and that’s the one I remember being used back when I was young. I’d have to look up to see what the first one was, bc I’m not sure. An Auburn student found it on a battlefield in the Civil War and nursed it back to health. It was named War Eagle and became real popular on campus as u could imagine! The man had the bird on the sideline, or I know at lleast somewhere in the stadium during the Auburn and Georgia game. Auburn scored a touchdown and when the crowd cheered, the eagle took off and started circling overhead. Some of the fans spotted it and said,”Look! There’s War Eagle!” And that my friends, is how our battle cry was started. War Eagle!!
