Class act. That being said, I’d hate to suffer through a 5-7 season and lose out on the recruiting leads due to an interim-coach situation. Its not fair to Coach Johnson or Coach Haynes having just come from a situation like that. The department should be transparent with them in their motives as well as provide large performance incentives to keep the coaches operating at the level required for successful conference play.

I’d be happy with McGee, but I’d rather have Coach Peterson from Boise St. He’s currently paid $2 mil/year so it would probably be a substantial pay increase. He would have the opportunity to compete at the highest level in college football with a program that finished in the Top 5 last season. He has a great offensive background and can coach his players up for the BIG games. That’s one thing my Razorbacks have always seemed to have an issue with: starting flat on the big stage.

My gut tells me that Garrick McGee will be the guy they hire. But it might be after the regular season is over. I can see AD Jeff Long going with Taver Johnson as the interim through 2012, and then bringing in McGee.
