Arkansas vs FSU? It Could Happen Next Year
I am a sucker for big-time, out-of-conference showdowns. I think it’s awesome; I think it’s sexy.
How about a big-time, out-of-conference opponent for the SEC in FSU for 2012? Doesn’t seem logical for either to go that route, but it could happen.
Recently it became apparent that West Virginia is going to buyout their game against the Seminoles in 2012. Awkwardly, there are not many opponents for the Noles to just pick up someone…except the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The Hogs, much like the Seminoles, are looking for another non-conference game. Arkansas’ annual battle with Texas A&M has now turned into a conference game, and they are looking for another out-of-conference matchup.
Arkansas’ 2012 schedule:
Sept. 1 – Jacksonville State
Sept. 8 – Louisiana-Monroe
Sept. 15 – Alabama*
Sept. 22 – Additional non-conference game or open date
Sept. 29 – Texas A&M*
Oct. 6 – @ Auburn*
Oct. 13 – Kentucky*
Oct. 20 – Additional non-conference game or open date
Oct. 27 – Ole Miss*
Nov. 3 – Tulsa
Nov. 10 – @ South Carolina*
Nov. 17 – @ Mississippi State*
Nov. 24 – LSU*
*Denotes conference game
Would either team be okay with playing each other at any point in the season? It would seem that both teams would have more to lose than to gain, to be honest.
But count me in as to hoping this does take place. It’s a long shot, but Arkansas’ AD Jeff Long said the Hogs want to add a prominent opponent to be the final non-conference game.

I would love to see OU and Akansas non conference or Texas and Arkansas.
The Hogs still owes Miami a butt-whippin or two.
