LSU punter extraordinaire and Aussie Brad Wing has been suspended from the Chick-fil-A Bowl for a failed drug test, according to NOLA.com.
Wing will be replaced by fellow Australian Jamie Keehn, a freshman from Queensland.
Les Miles has not made a comment regarding Wing’s suspension yet.
Wing missed a game earlier in the season for a possible hamstring injury, but Tiger Rag says Wing missed the game due to a failed drug test, the cause of the current suspension:
According to one source in the athletic department, Wing’s suspension is related to a failed drug test. Wing was suspended for LSU’s opener against North Texas, also a result of a failed drug test, the source said.
Brad Wing is also eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft and it’s likely that his career at LSU is over as he will enter the draft this year. If that is the case, his career stats at LSU are 59 punts for a 44.8-yard average with 21 punts downed inside the 20, 17 fair catches and 10 touchbacks.
We’ll never forget Wing’s fake punt-touchdown that was nullified for taunting:
