The team at Saturday Down South has been working to compile an extensive database of every college football and NFL football coach throughout the history of the sport. We have already indexed the history of 1,000 football coaches and they are available on our new Coaching Roots website. You can also see the complete coaching staff for your favorite teams. We have every coach dating back until 1950 and are working to complete most of the coaching history by this upcoming football season.
The current version of the site is basic, but it allows football fans to easily navigate and find the information they need on these coaches. Here are the profiles for the SEC teams for you to check out:

Take a look at the head coaches throughout the history of these prestigious programs. We are also working to complete coaching trees for each of the football coaches that have had members of their staff continue on to be head coaches. For example, here is Nick Saban’s coaching tree.
Let us know what you think and we’ll keep you updated on improvements to the site.
