Tennessee wide receiver, and leading returning receiver in the SEC with 1,040 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, Da’Rick Rogers has reportedly been suspeneded indefinitely by Derek Dooley.
The reason is unknown at this time, other than a violation of team rules.
Rogers was looking to team up with Justin Hunter and Cordarrelle Patterson for an explosive trio of receivers for quarterback Tyler Bray. Rogers has been described by many as the ‘complete’ receiver who can go across the middle against any team, but he’s had attitude problems in the past, most notably last season.
Justin Hunter, who had knee surgery last year, could now be the primary target for quarterback Tyler Bray, along with Cordarrelle Patterson.
In the spring, Rogers was absent from practice for a period, but coach Derek Dooley hesitated to call it a suspension. At that time, there was some discussion that Rogers was considering transferring to Georgia State.
This is a significant loss for the Vols and Dooley. In a make-or-break year for the head coach and the program, this is the last thing Dooley needs.
We’ll keep you updated as information is released.

Glad he didn’t come to UGA.
