It’s been nearly eight years since ESPN College GameDay has broadcast from Knoxville, TN, but that ends this week. Most thought GameDay would be in Fayetteville for the Arkansas-Alabama showdown, but with the ULM upset over Arkansas, the Hogs fell all the way out of the top 25, and the matchup next week took a big hit.
GameDay has not been in Knoxville since 2004 and hasn’t been there for Florida-Tennessee since 2002.
ESPN College GameDay Broadcasts from Neyland
Sept. 9, 1995 – Georgia at Tennessee (W, 30-27)
Sept. 21, 1996 – Florida at Tennessee (L, 35-29)
Nov. 6, 1999 – Notre Dame at Tennessee (W, 38-14)
Sept. 16, 2000 – Florida at Tennessee (L, 27-23)
Sept. 21, 2002 – Florida at Tennessee (L, 30-13)
Nov. 9, 2002 – Miami at Tennessee (L, 26-3)
Oct. 2, 2004 – Auburn at Tennessee (L, 34-10)
Both Florida and Tennessee are 2-0 and are ranked. Both teams have a little momentum after a good start to the 2012 season.
We’ll have plenty of analysis on this upcoming game throughout the week, but for now, the excitement level just took another notch up with the announcement from ESPN.
For the obnoxious SEC fan that is counting (me), that’s three straight SEC games for ESPN’s College GameDay.

Well lookie there, Florida / Tennessee is a relevant game? About time…
So the Vols beat NC State and Georgia State? Um, I’m pretty sure they still can’t run the ball. Florida is going to dominate the Vols and remind them that Dooley is terrible.
Yup, Avg 187.5yds for the first two games is pretty bad, Whats flordia done on the ground so far? Sure hope Gisillie is okay ha.. and mushchamp is a good coach? He will be on the hot seat after the loss in knoxville haha
But I do think it will be a very good game.. Should be an interesting match-up..
The gators barely squeak by bowling green and the aggies and suddenly they all think they are back to the prestige they had a few years ago. I think this is the match up of two coaches who have something to prove and as a gator hater, I hope UT puts up a nice fat W on em.
I WANT ME SOME OF THAT GATOR MEAT! GO VOLS! 3-0!
Looks as though the Corso Curse has come to Knoxville. Better hope he picks the Gators to win Vol fans.
o my gosh
