Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox will be leaving Starkville early and taking his talents to the NFL. Cox, who was very good all year for the Bulldogs, will make an impact at the next level.
Cox, who most recently recorded seven tackles, with two for a loss, had a sack and blocked a field goal in Mississippi State’s win over ACC-foe Wake Forest.
On the season, Cox recorded 14.5 tackles for loss, and he is projected to be a first-round selection in the NFL draft.
Cox released a statement on leaving early:
“This is a chance for me to do what I’ve always dreamed of, play in the NFL. I appreciate everything Mississippi State has done for me to help me get to this point. The coaches, fans, staff and everyone there have been amazing during my three years in Starkville.”
