All that talk about Malcolm Mitchell moving to corner and playing both ways this season will be notably absent in week one against Buffalo.
Mitchell suffered an ankle injury on Thursday that will keep him out of the opener.
Mitchell was looking to start the first of the year at corner and transition back to receiver when supposed suspended players returned to the Georgia secondary.
A road trip to Missouri looms on the schedule next weekend, and Mitchell is focused on getting healthy for that game.
Mitchell became Georgia’s best deep threat and playmaker on offense last season, as he caught 45 passes for 665 yards.
Due to the attrition of the secondary, Mitchell was moved to corner in the off-season to help with depth, and the coaching staff said he quickly became one of the team’s best corners.
We’ll have to wait and see on his progress for next week.
