Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez finally adds a little fuel to the fire for the Capital One Bowl, and it gives Georgia a reason to get fired up for a bowl game, as if two bowl losses in the last two years isn’t enough.
Martinez had this to say about Georgia’s ‘Big Ten’ defense today when meeting with the media:
Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez made a comment today: “Georgia has just another typical Big Ten defense, I’d say.”

It’s true – Georgia hasn’t exactly lived up to preseason expectation for their star-studded defensive cast, but they’ll likely have more defensive players drafted in April than any team in the country.

Maybe Martinez should have called Sheldon Richardson first about trash talking Georgia. Old Man Football and Big Ten football are very different, though. Old Man Football physically punishes you with a downhill power running game and physical defense, while Big Ten football finesses the hell out of you. Can Nebraska grind it out with Georgia for four quarters?
Both teams lost their conference championship game, but these two teams are very different.
Martinez has thrown for 2,667 yards and 21 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, while rushing 175 times for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns.
This time, UGA safety Shawn Williams doesn’t even have to fire up his own team and call them soft, because Martinez just did it for him.
