It’s the off-season, and the battle of the Fulmer Cup moves on.

Georgia defensive back Sanders Commings was arrested early Saturday morning on a domestic violence charge.

Jimmy Williamson, UGA police chief, said Commings and his girlfriend were in an alteration around 1 AM. Witnesses flagged down police officers shortly after the altercation took place.

“After conducting interviews, it was determined that Sanders Commings and his girlfriend, who was with these people that we now were talking to, had been in an altercation of some sort — basically where there was an argument,” Williamson said. “The witnesses tried to intervene. At that time, he reached around one of the witnesses and struck her.”

Commings is one of 10 returning starters on defense next year.
