National Signing Day is getting bigger and bigger every year it seems like. This year, twitter was dominated by the talk of NSD. The volume of tweets was simply incredible.

Just by looking at the talent the SEC pulled in today just reminds of how dominant this conference is and how dominant it will be in the future.

The SEC pulled a number of big-time players in this year’s recruiting cycle. Let’s take a look at some of the top commitments:

Dorial Green-Beckham: Missouri Tigers

DGB, as they call him, played this one close to the vest, but in the end, it was the home state Missouri Tigers. DGB was said to be down to Arkansas and Missouri. And indeed he will stay in the SEC, and I am looking very forward to watching this talented prospect play over the next few years. This is huge for Missouri because they are just entering SEC play, and now they have a little momentum with the top overall recruit in the country on next year’s roster.

Dante Fowler, Jr: Florida Gators

DF had been committed to Florida State since last December, and he made the flip today to the Florida Gators. Fowler will play the BUCK position at Florida, which is a hybrid defensive end and linebacker position. He will be seen coming off the edge for a few years moving forward for the Gators. It was a very big pickup.

Josh Harvey-Clemons: Georgia Bulldogs

JHC was thought to be down to Georgia, Florida and Florida State. In the end, all three schools felt good about him, but he pulled the trigger for the in-state team in the Georgia Bulldogs. JHC will play linebacker, and many recruiting services have him as one of the top linebackers in the country in this class. Overall, it was a huge pickup for the Georgia Bulldogs. That linebacker core for the Bulldogs is going to be something special over the next few years.

Kwon Alexander: LSU Tigers

KA is thought to be one of the top linebackers in the country as well. Alexander had a torn ACL this season, but no one gave up on him in the end. KA chose LSU over Alabama. All in all, this is a good pickup for the Tigers, and he is a bright future in Baton Rouge.

Trae Elston: Ole Miss Rebels

Elston is a big pickup by Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss. Elston was thought to announce for LSU, but he made somewhat of a surprise pick by going to Ole Miss. Elston should play as a freshman, and he said he’s very excited about the change of culture in Oxford under Coach Freeze. This is a good sign for Ole Miss moving forward.

Avery Young: Auburn Tigers

Avery Young played it close to the vest the whole recruiting cycle. Some thought Miami; some thought Georgia, while others thought Florida and Auburn. In the end, he chose Auburn over Florida to be closer to his mother in Atlanta. Young is a big-time offensive lineman at a position of need for the Tigers. Great get for Gene Chizik.

Cordarrelle Patterson: Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee should be wide receiver U next season. With Da’Rick Rogers and Justin Hunter already on campus, Tennessee pulled JUCO wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. This is a great pickup, and it adds depth to a position of need and Tennessee has questions about. Tyler Bray is one lucky quarterback to be throwing to all that talent in Knoxville.
