Arkansas lineman Jason Peacock enters a plea deal and is sentenced to 10 days in jail. Peacock, if you will remember, was arrested March 16th on a felony theft charge for allegedly taking another student’s debit card and using it to buy $35 worth of gas. Then Coach Bobby Petrino suspended Peacock, a starting lineman on the Hogs squad, indefinitely. His status is unclear with the team right now. [Arkansas Sports 360]

Several members of Auburn’s 2012 recruiting class are already enrolled in school, but which ones will actually make an impact as a freshman? OL Jordan Diamond is considered to be the top OL recruit in this class, but it will be very tough for a freshman OL to actually make an impact. However, WR Ricardo Louis could provide the Tigers with some immediate help at the position. “Ricardo Louis is a big, physical and athletic wide receiver that will have an opportunity to step in and play at a position where Auburn is looking to find a No. 2 and build depth behind top receiver Emory Blake.” [AL]

Florida finally picked up a QB in the 2013 recruiting class. After missing on several other higher ranked prospects, Will Muschamp finally got a commitment from QB Max Staver. Staver becomes Florida’s 18th commitment already. “I called them and they asked me if I was ready to be a Florida Gator, and I committed on the spot,” said Staver, who is from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tenn. Staver is a bigger kid at 6-5, 235lbs. Solid pickup for Muschamp and the Gators. [Gator Sports]

Georgia RB coach Bryan McClendon is impressed with the way Isaiah Crowell has grown up since last year. “Man, he’s doing, I want to knock on wood, but he’s doing a great job,” McClendon said. “He’s had a great spring. That’s propelled him into the offseason that’s he had. He’s really maturing, just really finding the value in doing all the small stuff. That’s where you see a guy mature the most, just how you value doing some of those small things.” [Dog Bytes]

Vanderbilt gained three huge commitments recently. LB Nigel Bowden recommitted to Vanderbilt, who had recently flipped to Georgia Tech. DB Darrius Sims and DT Sean Spencer also committed to the Dores over the weekend. They are red hot, having picked up four commitments in four days. Vanderbilt now has 13 commitments for 2013, and they are out-recruiting in-state rival Tennessee thus far. This is not your father’s Vanderbilt team. James Franklin is hitting the recruiting trail hard in an effort to make the Commodores relevant in the SEC. [Tennessean]
