The Alabama tea-bagger is indicted on sexual battery. Brian H. Downing is the creep’s name. An Orleans Parish grand jury served up the indictment against the 32 year-old Downing. The court set a bond amount of $50,000, and all Auburn jokesters say in unison, “There is no way an Alabama fan can afford that much.” [AL.com]
Nick Saban revealed the other day that a West Virginia-Alabama game is in the works for 2014. This would feature arguably the college game’s greatest defensive coordinator in Saban and arguably one of the best offensive minds in the college game in Dana Holgersen. While the game is not finalized, it is in the works. This would be an epic matchup to start of the year. [AL.com]
Bobby Petrino just sold his home on Beaver Lake, and he barely broke even. Petrino purchased the 2,532 sq. ft home in June 2008 for $600,000, and he just sold it for the same amount to a Wal-Mart chief merchandising officer. Georgia hired Daryl Jones as their new director of on-campus recruiting. Jones has spent 17 years as a high school coach, most notably at Griffin HS, Wayne County and North Oconoee. If you’re wondering what the on-campus recruiting director does…well, he serves as a coordinator and helps pinpoint recruiting logistics and strategy. [The Telegraph]
LSU received a commitment from JUCO WR Quantavious Leslie. Leslie is a 6-4, 190lb WR from Hinds (Miss.) Community College. Leslie caught 28 passes for 523 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He was orginally committed to WVU out of high school. This brings LSU’s commitments up to 10 for 2013. [NOLA]
