SDS is continually counting down the top 25 players in the SEC for 2012, and we’re not stopping until we get to No. 1.

Bacarri Rambo – No. 7

Next up in SDS’ top 25 countdown for 2012 is Georgia defensive back Bacarri Rambo.

Besides having the best name in the entire conference, Bacarri Rambo is a very good football player.

One of the best things that has happened since the offseason for Georgia is the fact that Rambo is coming back for his senior season in Athens. There is work left to be done.

Rambo really blew up in 2011 at his free safety position. He seemed to be all over the football field for the Bulldogs, and he was on multiple All-American teams and All-SEC teams.

Rambo was fifth on the Bulldogs in tackles (55) and first in interceptions (8). In fact, Rambo led the SEC in interceptions and passes defended (14).

And once he has made that interception, you better tackle him because he looks natural with the football in his hands.

The 6’0”, 218lb senior will be a staple in the secondary on what could be not only the best defense in the SEC but one of the best in the entire country.

Georgia will lean on Rambo’s leadership and experience in the back end of their defense.

While guys like Morris Claiborne, Tyrann Mathieu, Dre Kirkpatrick and Mark Barron highlighted this past season, Rambo is the next guy in line, along with Mathieu, to be the next class of defensive backs in the SEC.

This kid is fun to watch, and he is absolutely a bonafide playmaker in the secondary for the Bulldogs’ defense.
