Now that week six is upon us, here are the latest bowl projections based on last weekend’s outcomes.
Be sure and check out the SEC weekend recap and the top 25 poll this week.
BCS National Championship Game: Alabama
All-State Sugar Bowl: Georgia
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Outback Bowl: Florida
AT&T Cotton Bowl: South Carolina
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Mississippi State
Gator Bowl: Texas A&M
Music City Bowl: Tennessee
Liberty Bowl: Missouri
BBVA Compass Bowl: Auburn
Independence Bowl: Ole Miss
LSU has some problems, and they were very apparent against Towson this weekend. They now are missing three starters on offense and key players in the running game. They will lose a couple of games this year. Georgia jumps LSU because they have an explosive offensive team and the easiest road ahead, having only to play South Carolina and Florida. Even if the Bulldogs lose one game, the Dawgs can still get to Atlanta and go toe-to-toe in the SEC Championship. Obviously it’s still very cloudy.
Arkansas will not make a bowl game unless something unexpected happens to any of their teams ahead on the schedule. However, I do think Ole Miss squeaks out six wins and makes a bowl game. Auburn and Ole Miss are both questions right now.
There’s Alabama; then, who? Georgia, LSU, Florida, South Carolina and even Mississippi State will all jockey for rights to be called second best, or first loser. And don’t overlook Texas A&M, either, as their offense has come alive, and they have a very underrated defense.
This weekend Florida-LSU and Georgia-South Carolina will try and separate themselves from the rest of the field, and things will sort out somewhat, especially in the East.
Here is the week six schedule for all the games.

I seriously doubt Auburn wins 5 games this year. GO DAWGS!
Never count out the tigers, One of those wins could very well be against your dawgs! Upsets happen every week and AU is only getting better. They are still not where they need to be but there is a lot of football left to play and plenty of potential in this young team. Every year GA is suppose to be this awesome team, and it hasn’t really happened yet. Not to say that they won’t make it to the SEC championship game but from what I’ve seen of them this year, they just seem decent. War Eagle!
i agree with that auburn has had a bad record and shut down bama and others
if you watched much of ga’s games im sure you would notice the difference
GO DAWGS! In the Sugar Bowl!
Georgia jumps to a BCS bowl after giving up 478 yards of total offense at home?
And LSU was less than adequate against Towson, and Carolina had to pull it out in the second half. Through five weeks, Georgia has the best offense in the SEC. This week will tell. Tons of time left.
Best offense in the SEC, maybe so, but where’s the defense? You know, the one that all the UGA faithful felt was on the same level as BAMA and LSU!
478 yds to the obvious second-best offense in the sec.
I’m just not sold that Bama is that unbeatable. I think whoever makes it outta the east will have a much better shot than people are giving them so I will have to disagree that the rest are “Jockeying for 2nd place”
I agree, the winner of the east is going to come into Atlanta battle tested. The west looks alot weaker than we predicted pre-season. The Tide’s big test in LSU has looked very vulnerable, and could very well be knocked off by Florida or S. Car. in the upcoming weeks. Georgia has looked dominant on offense, and has proven that they can win in a shootout. Alabama has yet to and probablly wont be put in that situation during the regular season. If S. Car. can run the gauntlet in October then they will come into Atlanta with confidence. I dont feel that Florida will be able to run the table with a first year quarterback, but they are a very complete team. Any of the east’s big three could sneak into Atlanta and steal a win.
Agreed Greene…battle tested for sure…
love the enthusiasm but come on…Bama plays its own level. Until I really seem them struggle (they didn’t really “struggle” against Ole Miss but if you want to count a 1 point lead over 4 mins “struggling” ok). Until that time…Bama is unbeatable.
i agree!!! bama has only trailed 14 seconds in ten games, roll tide
All that says is we dont know how Bama will react if they get behind. They are undoubtably the best team in the nation, and the SECCG favorite. But unbeatable is a stretch. Bama fetl unbeateable in 2010, came to Columbia, couldnt play when they got behind.
Ah yes… because any game that was played before August 30, 2012 should matter on the outcome of this season…
NOBODY is unbeatable….They earned the top ranking for being defending champs and all but from what Ive seen UGA can hurt you in more ways than anyone. Pass/Rush/Turnovers/Kick Returns…Im telling you this right now: IF we make it to Atlanta and we play bama we will beat them by two scores. Book it!
That just sounds arrogant. Bama has a much stonger defense, an elite quarterback, and a better return game than Georgia. To say yall are more multi deminsional and would win by two scores is foolish.
Thats not sayin I dont respect what Bama does: Saban puts the most disciplined and technically sound football team in the nation on the field every year. BUT when you put them to the test and its the 4th quarter…technique often gets pushed aside and I like our chances in almost every matchup on the field.
If it was arrogance I wouldnt have said “IF” we make it…Im not looking past this weekend. Arrogance is all the people that are claiming the west/sec/bcs is already Bama’s when weve only played 5 games.
ummm sure….with a combined score through five games of 201- 35. i am sure the east champ will knock out BAMA…. NOT!!!!!
And the last team to upset the unbeatable ‘Tide? South Carolina. Alabama is no doubt the top dog, but the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs are for real.
And they just lost two of their best offensive starters, so who knows how that will affect them?
Looks good to me…ROLL TIDE!!!
11 of 14 teams projected in bowls? That’s pretty optimistic. But as you stated, Auburn and Ole Miss are still pretty big question marks.
Alabama isn’t UNBEATABLE (nobody is), but they’re pretty darn close. Welcome to the SEC Missouri, you now get to experience the scariest four words in college football…”You play Alabama next”. (I realize you play Vandy on Saturday, but you’re next for Alabama. While Mizzou is focusing on Vandy this week, Saban and his boys already have a bead drawn on Mizzou.)
