Well, I finished 3-3 last weekend (36-9 overall), and Kevin finished 2-4 (35-10 overall). He falls a huge one game behind.
On to week seven we go:
Auburn at Ole Miss
Jon: Auburn is a program that has way too much turmoil within the walls of the athletic complex for me to even remotely consider picking them. Ole Miss breaks their 16-game SEC losing streak dating back to 2010. Ole Miss 27, Auburn 10
Kevin: I like this Ole Miss team. I think the passing game will be difficult for Auburn, and we all know that the Auburn offense is pretty mediocre. Ole Miss 24, Auburn 14
#1 Alabama at Missouri
Jon: The Tide return off the bye week to make a statement to each and everyone who has been dogging them about the weak schedule. Alabama 31, Missouri 6
Kevin: This game will be yet another “efficient” win for Alabama. Saban and Pinkel have a history together, so he’s not going to want to intentionally run up this score, but they should still win handily. Alabama 33, Missouri 6
#4 Florida at Vanderbilt
Jon: Vanderbilt catches Florida between two huge games – LSU and South Carolina. But the Gators are just too strong in the trenches. It could be closer than some think, though. Florida 27, Vanderbilt 10
Kevin: Florida’s run game will wear down Vanderbitl. Vanderbitl’s offense will struggle to move the chains at times. Florida wins in an easy, and somewhat boring, game. Florida 33, Vanderbilt 10
Kentucky at Arkansas
Jon: I think Arkansas gets another victory marching towards a chance at bowl eligibility this week, which is bad news for Joker Phillips. Arkansas 31, Kentucky 17
Kevin: Was last week the spark that Arkansas needed to get cranking a bit? I think it was. I think they come out and the offense plays well. The defense, of course, will still give up some points. Arkansas 38, Kentucky 21
Tennessee at #19 Mississippi State
Jon: This game will come down to Tyler Bray protecting the football in the passing game. Miss State is +11 in TO margin, and I like them to force at least a couple this weekend. Mississippi State 24, Tennessee 21
Kevin: Mississippi State is the favorite here and ilkely winner, but I’m going to go with the desperation upset. Dooley needs the win, and maybe him coaching from up high in the booth is the answer? Probably not. Tennessee 28, Mississippi State 27
#22 Texas A&M at #23 Louisiana Tech
Jon: This one has a chance to be a track meet in Shreveport, with both teams hovering around the 50-point mark this season. But in the end, I like the Aggies’ defense to make enough plays to win the game. Texas A&M 41, Louisiana Tech 34
Kevin: Louisiana Tech is a good football team, but Johnny Football will be way too much for the La Tech defense. Expect La Tech to put some points up, but they won’t be able to catch Johnny. Texas A&M 51, Louisiana Tech 31
#3 South Carolina at #9 LSU
Jon: The sexiest game in all of college football lives on the Bayou this week, as two dominant defenses filled with NFL talent go to work. This game is going to come down to whichever offensive line will be able to block their opponent’s defensive line. No one has stopped Jadeveon Clowney yet, and I’m finally a believer in Connor Shaw. I think Carolina gets it done. South Carolina 17, LSU 13
Kevin: South Carolina is the better football team, but this is such a tough environment. Saturday night in Death Valley. South Carolina hasn’t played a team like LSU yet that will run the ball straight at them repeatedly. I think the crowd and the LSU defensive front keep the SC run game in check and wins this game. A completely different environment for the Gamecocks compared to last week. This one will be a bruiser. LSU 14, South Carolina 13

all good but- tenn wins-lsu wins big
Here are a couple of noteworthy items on that LSU-South Carolina game. LSU has not beaten a top 5 team at home in FIFTEEN years. LSU has played 4 teams at home ranked higher than them since the start of the 2008 season. They have lost 3 of those 4 games. Les Miles is 0-2 against top 5 teams at home. South Carolina wins 24-10.
Means to put that LSU hasn’t won a home game against a top 5 team, AT NIGHT, in 15 years. Les Miles is 0-2 in such games.
I hope your score prediction is right!! Go Cocks!!
What is South Carolina’s record vs top 5 teams the last 15 years?
At home or on the road…it doesn’t matter. Just last year LSU beat #3 ranked Oregon, #2 Alabama, and #3 Arkansas.
This is a Special Gamecock Team, They are going to roll LSU in DeathValley 24-7 GO COCKS! Watch out Bama.
Mississippi State wins and shows they belong in the conversation for the SEC West and possibly more.
I like Mississippi State’s secondary to show just how good they can be! Atleast 2 picks for Bray, high emotion game in DWS.
I think South Carolina goes in and beats LSU, then loses to Florida next week. They will be banged up and it is difficult to get up for a third straight game no matter how good you are. Should be a good game this week though.
Ole Miss 31 – Auburn 13
Arkansas 44 – Kentucky 17
Mississippi State 49 – Tennessee 45
TAMU 52 – LA Tech 10
(I hope LSU 35 – South Carolina 7) (Its probably more like South Carolina 24 – LSU 16)
This guy is an SC troll.
Looks like a georgia fan got to one of the writer’s! lol (Sorry, just had to)
Ole Miss
Alabama
Florida
Arkansas (yes, it was THE spark!)
Mississippi State
A&M
South Carolina
LSU in a close one.
Id like to see some upsets this weekend. Namely Kentucky and Tennessee. I think S.Car/LSU should be a good game. We will get to see what S.Car’s offense looks like against a defense that is playing at the caliber Georgia’s was supposed to be at this year. Alabama of course wins handily and we get to see if Florida is thinking ahead or if they are the real deal before their face off with S.Car.
GO LSU!
Gamecocks pull it out, LSU can’t score and I don’t think they will even get a touchdown in this game.
