A few weeks ago, Florida entered the season without a quarterback. After winning the job in unspectacular fashion against Bowling Green, Jeff Driskel has led the Gators to back-to-back impressive road wins at Texas A&M and Tennessee.
The statistics show an efficient performance: 14 of 20 passing, 219 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions. Very AJ McCarron like numbers. However, Driskel brings an athletic component to the game as well with 81 rush yards on 8 carries.
If you watched the game, Driskel looked sharp. He looked calm and poised (for the second week in a row). He’s making tough throws.
For the first time in a few years, Florida has an asset at quarterback. Not a liability.
