Tyler Wilson says teammates gave up against Alabama

NEW: Follow on facebook -

Arkansas QB was not cleared to play against Alabama, but he made a statement to the media after the 52-0 loss:

“No, sorry, we’re not doing questions today. I’ll start with the football game. Obviously it wasn’t very pretty to watch. It wasn’t pretty for me to sit on the sideline and watch as a player. It sucks I can’t be out there to do anything about it. Do I feel like we at times gave up out there? Yeah. Absoutely. And as a leader, it sucks to see people not do their jobs and things go wrong. There have been a lot of things that have gone that way. As a leader at this point, you’ve got to look forward, and there’s been a lot of people jump off the bandwagon and it’s my responsibility as a leader to keep everybody in this organization, in this team, in that locker room, together. And I’m going to make sure of it going forward. We’ve got a big game against Rutgers next week. I’m going to do everything in my power to be a part of it and be the starting quarterback to run out there on the field and get a win. You’ve got to start with one before you can get the rest of them. But I give you my word I’m going to do the best in my ability and the best in my power to make that happen. That’s all I’ve got.”

"Thank you for making it so easy to keep up with my team.
You provide SEC fans with an amazing, free service!"

  1. Ok Tim Tebow wanna be. If you were out there the result woulda been the same. Roll Tide!

    • Cut the guy some slack. He just watched his team get destroyed and couldn’t do a thing about it. And I don’t think he wants to be Tim Tebow. I’m sure if the roles were reversed, AJ would be saying the same thing. And I’m sure if Wilson were out there it wouldn’t have been a shutout, that’s for sure. Have some class in victory.

    • Without a doubt Bama would have still won the game, but I promise you if Tyler Wison was out there, Nick Saban would have been pulling his hairs out because he would have seen his defensive give up 300+ passing yards. Bama played a great game I will give you that Johnwilliams, but they got plenty of help from Arkansas’s unfortunate miscues. Arkansas gave up 21 points in the first half have due to silly uncharacteristic mistakes. Mistakes that Tyler Wilson would not of dreamed of making in a big game like this one. Bama has a great team that will most likely win it all again this year, but todays game wasn’t even considered a legit match up for Bama due to Arkansas’s injuries. Bama unfortunatly did not face the team they wished to play without Tyler Wilson in the pocket because it would have been a much closer result than the slaughtering that occured out there earlier today. I hope Arkansas gets it together for next weeks game, and I hope Bama continues there success as a dominant team in the SEC.

    • Wow…that’s all you could come up with? If a.j turns out to be half the Quarterback and leader Tyler is…you’ll be lucky. The only reason you have any kinda offense is BC your O LINE is Huge. Take that protection away and ol #10 falls apart. If you think different wait til next season.

      • Ahhh yes, the old “Wait Til Next Year” refrain, always the motto of losers and wanna-bes from the end of one of their pathetic seasons to the beginning of the next one – until that next season starts, and they wind up going 7-5 and headed to the Poulan Weed-Eater bowl… again.

    • Oh, you “promise” that Tyler Wilson would have been able to throw for 300+ yards against one of the best defenses in the country, when he couldn’t even manage 200 yards against Louisiana-Monroe? Supporting your team is one thing, but making ridiculous statements like that proves you’re a homer with absolutely no football sense. Next you’ll be “promising” us that Arkansas is just one or two seasons away from a championship. Riiiiiight.

      • Clearly you’re as moronic as every other person in this country. He didn’t put up 200+ yards because he didn’t play the ENTIRE SECOND HALF OF THE GAME AGAINST ULM. That was capitalized so you can see your pure ignorance. Shut the F*** up when you decide to talk football and haven’t even the simplest understanding of how statistics is compiled. You, good sir, are a moron and an idiot. Tyler Wilson, god save him, is a better quarterback than AJ Mccarron could wish to be, and his talent far exceeds your inept interpretation of his projected performance would have been. I’m sick of these pathetic excuses for fans that the SEC has generated in the past 20 years. Educate yourselves before you speak you uneducated, redneck dumbasses

        • Numbers talk, BS walks. My statement stands, as it’s correct. I wonder how Arkansas is enjoying their 0-2 start and that titanic fall from #8 in the country to soon-to-be unranked?

        • well said…..Brashh

        • God I hate that my keyboard, or possibly its operator screws up all the time! was trying to say….well said Chestertribett, and Brashhulk, you are a moron. Alabama is good for sure….but your ginormous offensive line makes McCarron look way better than he would be on any other team….he is no Tyler Wilson. And we have no coach, literally, in John L Smith if you look up his record…without the leadership of Wilson on the field, at least…..hopefully we can put this behind us, get Tyler healthy, and win some games and get our boys heads right. Congrats on the win, but no need to talk crap,….you are gonna have some trouble with LSU, and God forbid you meet up with FSU this year.

      • 0-2? 1-2 you babbling idiot, shut up unless you know what you are talking about. It makes you look like a moron..

    • Wilson is a good QB and I wish him the best, however there is no way he would of put up 300 Yds against Bama..

    • Let’s see, Saban has pulled his hair out…how many times in the last 3 years???..think I need to change my name to Tide15th…Rooooooooll Tide!!!!

  3. I agree with with john williams. He wouldnt have made a bit of difference. Nor would that womanizing coach Petrino. You got beat down punk shut up and take it.

    • Easy to talk trash on the internet….but we wouldn’t expect anything different from a bama fan…hope you feel real big. You shouldn’t though BC Seeing as how u have to talk a big game. You prolly don’t have any…WPS!

      • It’s not trash talk when you back it up. Until any SEC team, or ANY team, beats Alabama, the fans of other teams should simply sit back and show respect.

        • If Alabama is so good, why do they always have a crappy schedule, playing only the tough teams that they have too??? Seem scared to me!!!

        • crappy schedule? ….we whipped Michigan and you lost to La Monroe and now play that Big East powerhouse Rutgers…wow SMH

        • Would show respect to the trash talkers if they were the ones out on the field not talking like they had something to do with it. Moron.

  4. Ok let’s be realistic here. Tyler Wilson, good Quarterback.. however, he was absolutely deconstructed by Louisiana Monroe. And the rest of your argument would be again what? Wait I’m sorry… I couldn’t here your response…
Oh… yes valid argument when the 2nd and 3rd string Quarterback rotated, 3 True Freshmen, and the ENTIRE second and third string offense and defense for Alabama played 90% of the THIRD quarter and the ENTIRE 4th Quarter.

Arkansas was supposed to be a contender this year, so with ONE player out, you crumble, and talk 300+ yards if… IF he played. Brother, put down the crack pipe…

    • HE played great until he was knocked out with a concussion…do you watch r listen to football????

      • He played great… against Jacksonville State and ULM, real powers of D-1 football. He maybe worth 1 or 2 touchdowns, but with a terrible O-Line and a horrible D ( gave up 24 to JSU, 34 to ULM), Arkansas still would have lost… BIG. Maybe you should pull those cardinal colored glasses off and face reality. You guys can win 9+ games (with Bobby P calling the shots), but you can’t win the big ones consistently because you don’t have the hosses to win in the trenches,,,,

  5. Nice way to bring your team even further down than they already are. There are words you can use other than bash your team mates as a leader. You want to bring your team up do it with words of encouragement, not insult and belittle them with your personal opinion. Wilson, you wouldn’t have made “any” difference out there if you had played. Alabama is a beast and its hungry. They dined on pork yesterday.

  6. They gave up…..lmao nice excuse.

  7. I hope Ark gets it together and wins out the rest of their games, however there is no way Wilson would have stopped the Tide from winning the game. As for the comment on the reason A J is so good…Duh! you said take away his protection, my gosh do you know that is true with all QBs….A J is good and has the protection so take your woodshed whopping and get behind your team and win the rest of your games…Roll Tide
