Misery Loves Company: These 4 SEC defenses are bad

NEW: Follow on facebook -

In a league where defense takes precedence over every other aspect of the game, there are four defenses that are completely defenseless. The four worst defenses in the SEC – Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee – have been giving up yardage and points in massive proportions through 10 weeks.

All four are giving up over 400 yards of total offense and more than 27 points per game, with Kentucky and Tennessee each giving up over 33 points per game. In the last five years prior to 2012, there have been only six defenses total to give up over 400 yards of total offense per game for the season, and we have four of them threatening to do it in one year.

We looked at the best defenses earlier in the season, and now let’s take a minute to recognize how horrible these four have been. And only one of them can be named the worst defense in the SEC.

  1. This is great…no doubt Tennessee is the worst defense in the SEC. Sunseri is calling like single high safeties on 3rd and a mile. He reminds me of John Chavis…but about 20x worse. And speaking of Chavis – we saw his true colors the other night on his defensive calling against Bama on that last drive.
