Alabama already a 3- to 6.5-point favorite over Oregon

It seems the college football world thinks it’s inevitable, and Vegas does, too. The two best teams in the country through three weeks are Alabama and Oregon, two drastically different styles, programs and coaching cultures.

Kirk Herbstreit is talking about it, as well as most of the media, too. Alabama and Oregon seem to be the favorite picks around the country to get to Pasadena. Vegas has even set line for a theoretical national championship game.

The Golden Nugget has Alabama as three-point favorites, while has Alabama as 6.5-point favorites.

Coming off a big win against Texas A&M, the Tide return to action Saturday against Colorado State, where they’re 39.5-point favorites, but big games against LSU and the SEC East winner remain. Oregon gets a bye week after throttling Tennessee 59-14.

  • Oregon plays crap teams all year; with their weak like Willie Lunchmeat schedule how do they expect to be in the running for a National Title; even if their undefeated !

  • PAC 12 is the second best conference. With games @ Washington, and @ Stanford they will be tested. Alabama only has 3 ranked teams on the schedule

    • Virginia tech was ranked before falling to Alabama. Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas A&M (with one of the last 2 likely to end the season ranked in the top 5). Not to mention the SEC Championship, with the SEC East winner being ranked well within the top 10. Not exactly 3 ranked teams

      • Virginia Tech hasn’t been ranked since week 4 last year. But that’s besides the point. Assuming Oregon and Bama do make it together, Oregon may be the toughest offense the Tide faces since A&M. Remember, had Cam Newton not showed up late-game vs. Oregon, the Ducks were ready to pull off the upset and only lost by 3.

  • I’ll take everyone else from the rest of the field.

  • If Bama and Oregon can make it to the title game to play each other it will be one hell of a game. It will be great to see Saban’s game-plan for the Oregon offense. I predict a close Bama win but would be not shocked f the Ducks squeaked one out.
