Alabama set to hire Mario Cristobal as OLine coach

NEW: Follow on facebook -

According to CBSSports, Alabama has hired Mario Cristobal to coach the offensive line. Cristobal replaces Jeff Stoutland, who left for the Philadelphia Eagles last week.

Cristobal, the Miami native, played offensive tackle for the Hurricanes from 1989-1992, and he’s most known for being the head coach of FIU from 2007 to 2012.

Miami hired Cristobal to be an associate head coach last month after he was fired by FIU, who finished 3-9 in 2012.

Though Cristobal isn’t known for being an exceptional position coach, he has all the connections in South Florida, and that has to make him an attractive hire for Nick Saban.
