Fresh off thumping Michigan this past year at Cowboys Stadium 41-14, the Crimson Tide will return in 2015 to open against Big Ten foe Wisconsin.
TV and start time will be released at a future date.
“As a league we decided that we needed to upgrade our nonconference schedule,” Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said. “We understand that strength of schedule will be a factor in determining which teams earn the right to participate in the new four-team playoff system and we want to be in that mix.
“There’s no better way to do that than by playing the defending national champions. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to play a storied program like Alabama in a terrific venue like Cowboys Stadium. It will be a great experience for our program, our players and our fans.”
The last time these two hooked up was in 1928, with the Badgers winning 15-0.
The state of Michigan has been hammered the last few years by Alabama…why not let Big Ten brethren Wisconsin have a shot.
Hats off to Alabama, though, for playing a worthy opponent again to open a season. Nick Saban loves these neutral site games.
I just don’t know if Wisconsin fans are as witty as Michigan State fans.
