Joining the SEC means joining the arms race of stadium expansion and renovations. Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium is no exception.

The Faurot Field renovations that are under way are as follows:

  • Last year, plans were announced to increase the capacity of Memorial Stadium by roughly 6,000 seats.
  • By the start of the 2013 season, the west side press box at Faurot Field will be renovated and the facilities housing the press will move to the sixth floor. The existing press box facilities are being converted into premium suites.
  • Also expected by the start of the 2013 season, the “Rock M” – one of the more well known landmarks in college football stadiums – is going to be moved closer to the north endzone. Also, the northern concourse will be expanded.
  • By the start of the 2014 season, Faurot Field will be given an upper bowl on the east side of the stadium. This is expected to bring an additional 5,200 general seats and 800 premium seats.

  1. 85,000 at a Mizzou home game. Now, that would be great for the University of Mizzouri, and all of the state of Missouri.
