The senior caught 36 passes for 712 yards and five career touchdowns in three seasons. Bell missed the SEC Championship and the national championship games last season after he broke his leg in the Iron Bowl.

  • Bell was a true speedster and genuinely nice guy. I wish him all the best. I’m sure no one at Alabama is happy to see him go, but the team is fine depth-wise at the position.

    • WHAT??? The team? So you’re thinking about nothing but the team when you read this news? I see a young man that is being a responsible adult. Good luck Kenny, being a dad is the greatest job in the world.

  • Certainly hope he plans to (and is able to) stay in college. It’s one thing to recognize that you don’t have a future in professional football, but it’s completely different if you think dropping out completely is the answer. Of course, he may not be able to afford college without scholarship. Hoping it works out for him.

  • As much as I, like any Bama fan, would love to see this guy back on the field, we all have to respect what he’s doing in shouldering his fatherly responsibilities.

We’re gonna miss you Kenny, and God bless!

  • Congratulation to Kenny on reaching the graduation goal, working hard to come back from an injury, ability to weigh all possibilities making probably a gut wrenching decision to put his children, family and future health and well-being 1st. Sounds like this young man is to be admired as a self aware leader in a program that knows how to support and respect their members. In my humble opinion that deserves the biggest “Roll Tide” I have ever heard.

  • As an Alabama fan, I hate to see him go. But LOVE to see him make a decision like tyhis and put his family 1st! WAY TO GO, KENNY!

  • This is exactly what Nick Saban means whenever he tells his recruits that his first job is to help them become exceptional men first then he wants to coach them into being exceptional football players. Kenny Bell is the epitome of what Coach Saban and the Alabama football program is all about. Kudos to Kenny Bell for really taking the lesson to heart and kudos to Nick Saban and the entire coaching staff at The University of Alabama. Roll Tide!!!!

  • Thanks for all the hard work you did to entertain us, and Prayer that you will be an even better dad.

  • LOL…”But Bell, what about your kids??!!!!” Bell: “Roll Tide”

  • Man!! do any of you pachyderms read the articles youre commenting on? he said hes back!! as in he isnt leaving!! c’mon!! he did his pout thing and Saban promised him a couple balls would come his way – “Bama needs you son! think of the team! think of your teamates! think of me!!” – after sept 14 maybe a differents story, but for right now …
