The cities for the national championship games in 2016 and 2017 were announced today.

Two very different geographic areas. Both warm weather. NFL stadiums in both locations. University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale of course is no stranger to the BCS, and it will also host Super Bowl XLIX. Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has hosted four Super Bowls so they are no stranger to big events.

Of course, the first college football playoff next year will result in a championship game played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (previously announced).
