NFL Draft rewind: Mississippi State’s five-year recap

Mississippi State has several draft hopefuls next month, including corner tandem Johnthan Banks and Darius Slay. DT Josh Boyd, LB Cam Lawrence, DB Corey Broomfield and WR Chad Bumphis are also draft hopefuls.

MSU has had nine draft picks in the last five years.

Best Pro: KJ Wright has turned into an impact player for the Seahawks’ swarming defense. Wright has totaled 163 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one INT in just two seasons. And he’s proved to be a strong pick in the fourth round in 2011. Wright racked up 258 total tackles in his studly Bulldog career.

Most Disappointing Pro: Derek Sherrod is MSU’s most disappointing pro only because of his injury. The former first-round pick broke his leg in December of his rookie year, and he didn’t appear in any game in 2012 because of it. Sherrod was a star in the making, but his injury could unfortunately hamper the rest of his career.
