Opening fall practice August 3rd: Ole Miss

Only one SEC school starts practice today in Ole Miss. Here’s Ole Miss’ main agenda for preseason practice:

Get Bo Wallace comfortable

Ole Miss’ main agenda is getting Bo Wallace comfortable and confident. He missed spring practice recovering from shoulder surgery. Is he 100 percent? Is he 85 percent? Wallace having confidence in his shoulder is 95 percent of the battle. He missed valuable time to create a better rapport with his receivers, and shaking the rust off is imperative. Wallace was the most valuable player this spring even without practicing. The drop off to backup Barry Brunetti is quite steep. Wallace’s max for the start of fall camp is 50 throws, and he’ll gradually increase those leading up to the first game against Vanderbilt.

Outside of Wallace, Hugh Freeze must identify some impact players at tight end. It’s the biggest worry, depth chart-wise, of any roster position.
