Top LB Reuben Foster commits to Alabama

The much-anticipated hype and drama surrounding the top linebacker in the country Reuben Foster is apparently over, as he chose Alabama over Auburn and Georgia tonight.

Foster is the top-ranked linebacker according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, which provide an average ranking from the combination of the four major networks of 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout.

Foster first committed to Alabama, and then he decommitted, taking a shot at the Tide by delivering the exact same statement as TJ Yeldon when he flipped from Auburn to the Tide.

Nevertheless, Alabama is getting a blue-chip linebacker with an Auburn tattoo to go along with an already star-studded class that is tops in the country.

Foster was thought to be an Auburn lock down the stretch, but he left Auburn in the middle of his visit this weekend and headed to Tuscaloosa. And things got a little hairy.

But make no mistake about it – just because Foster committed to the Tide tonight doesn’t mean that it’s over. Alabama won’t feel good about Foster until the LOI comes across the fax machine Wednesday.

  • Good! The Dawgs didn’t need that prima donna anyway! I would laugh if CNS pulled his offer the morning of NSD!

  • I’m not so sure this is a good thing for Bama. Either Saban will break him or he will be gone in 18 months.

    • I tend to agree with you, Adrian. But five-stars with the exception of Tyler Love and BJ Scott tend to work out on Saban’s behalf. Is Foster worthy of being the top LB in the country? That’s debatable, but big-time prospects have a history of flourishing once they get into “the process”.
