SEC bowl game records during the BCS era

Prior to the start of the season, CollegeSpun did an interesting study of every college football team’s bowl game record during the BCS era, extending all the way back to 1998.

Georgia has dominated opponents during the BCS era, and the Bulldogs hold the best win/loss record and have outscored opponents by 125 points. The oddest point about Georgia being on top is that the Bulldogs are the only team in the top four not to have won a championship.

Specifically outside the top four, only two teams – Auburn and Tennessee – have won a national championship.

Texas A&M has the worst winning percentage during the BCS era, and they have been outscored by 92 points… that includes last year’s thumping of Oklahoma.
