I’m a sucker for numbers. Statistics don’t tell us the whole story, but you can see some underlying issues with teams based on numbers.

Let’s dive into the offensive and defensive numbers for Auburn and Missouri for the SEC Championship.
Auburn and Mizzou are very similar on offense, with Auburn having a more dominant rushing game and Missouri being more balanced. However, they’re scoring the same amount of points and racking up the same amount of total yardage. It just looks different between the two. The SEC’s top two rushing offenses will be fun to watch.

Missouri’s defensive numbers are better, and they lead the SEC with 37 sacks. However, Auburn’s red zone defense has been very good this year. Yes, they’ve been giving up yards, but they’ve kept points off the scoreboard. That’s what I like to call bend, but don’t break.
